The capital and largest city of Slovenia. During antiquity, it was the site of a Roman city called Emona. Ljubljana Castle is the most spectacular sight of Ljubljana. There is proven evidence that the hill on top of which it is situated was inhabited back to 2000 years BC. Preserved from this early period of settlement are the remains of the Urn Tomb culture. Other famous sights are Preseren Square, Triple Bridge (Tromostovje) and Dragon Bridge.
Postojna Cave Park
24,120 m long karst cave system near Postojna, southwestern Slovenia. It is the largest cave in the “classic karst” and the most visited show cave in Europe. The caves are also home to the endemic olm, the largest trogloditic amphibian in the world. Just 10 kilometres from Postojna Cave stands one of the most picturesque wonders of human history: Predjama Castle. For more than 700 years it has perched proudly on its 123-metre cliff.
Ranks among the most beautiful alpine resorts, renowned for its mild, healing climate and thermal lake water. Most famous sight is Bled Castle, medieval castle built on a precipice above the city of Bled in Slovenia, overlooking Lake Bled. According to written sources, it is the oldest Slovenian castle and is currently one of the most visited tourist attractions in Slovenia.
