Rovinj
On the peninsula of Rovinj, which was an island until 1763, the medieval old town had developed, with its narrow stone alleys and stairways worn from use over the centuries, from doors that open onto squares surrounded by small and colorful houses. Among many interested places to see in Rovinj there is the church of St. Euphemia with the distinctive bell tower that dominates the peninsula. St. Andrew's Island - The largest island in the Rovinj archipelago is St. Andrew's, also known as the Red Island. Here you will find a castle that was originally a Benedictine monastery, a church and the never completed mausoleum of the Huetterott family. Franciscan Monastery - Another historic building is located on De Amicis Street, a Franciscan monastery built in the 18th century, in Baroque style. The monastery houses a library and a museum of sacral artifacts.

Poreč
Poreč is a town located in the heart of the western coast of Istria. Given the town’s long history, a visit to the old town is a must due to its numerous historical sites. The Decumanus is the main street in Porec which runs east-west through the centre of the old town. It was also the main road during prehistoric and Roman times. The most important monument is the 6th century Euphrasian Basilica, declared a Unesco wold heritage site, is wonderfully preserved and is well known for its beautiful gold mosaics. The Basilica is really a collection of various buildings, including a bapistry and the Bishop’s Palace. To be seen is also a Marafor Square (Trg Marafor) is where a Roman forum was once situated.

Umag
Umag in Istria is the first city you will reach when approaching Istria from western Europe. The glamour, magnificence and glare of the times can be seen today in Venetian houses of the old Umag town– city walls and fortresses are partially preserved as well as some renaissance and baroque buildings and churches, including four medieval churches built from 13th to 16th century. The Renaissance tower houses a City Museum worth seeing for its Antique period exhibits as well as for the exhibits of contemporary artists.
